Purchase a qualifying water heater from any retailer and submit a rebate claim within 120 days of purchase. You should receive your rebate check approximately six weeks after PSE&G reviews your application and documentation.

- To be eligible for a rebate, the tankless water heater you purchase must have a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) rating greater than or equal to 0.87.
- Customers applying for a rebate must have an active PSE&G residential gas account. Commercial and multi-family properties are not eligible.
- The model number must be listed on the application or invoice. If the model number is not listed on the invoice/receipt, a SKU or item number corresponding to the model number on the store’s website must be available.
- Rebate claim must be submitted within 120 days of purchase.
- Refurbished appliances, open-box appliances, and leased appliances do not qualify. This applies to all rent-to-own appliances, lease-to-own appliances, and appliances in layaway at stores such as Rent-A-Center and Aaron’s. If the receipt shows the terms “lease to own” or “rent to own,” then a balance owed of $0 must also be shown, or the appliance must be paid for (upfront and in full) to qualify for a rebate.
- The rebate amount cannot exceed the value of the purchase.
- Equipment purchased from any utility’s online marketplace is not eligible for a rebate.
- Limit of one rebate annually per account for each water heater.
- Appliances discounted through the HVAC Instant Rebates Program are not eligible for an additional rebate.

For example, if PSE&G only provides you with gas service and you’d like to claim a rebate on an electrical appliance (such as a refrigerator), you need to instead check with your electric utility provider to find out if they offer rebates. In this instance, you’d be ineligible to claim a rebate with PSE&G.
Room air conditioners, dehumidifiers, ventilation fans, and air purifiers/cleaners are only discounted through participating retailers.
However, post-purchase rebates are available for appliances purchased at any retailer as long as the paid receipt shows the retailer name, model number, and purchase price. The rebate amount can’t exceed the value of the purchase.
Equipment purchased from any utility company’s online marketplace isn’t eligible for a rebate.
