If you are eligible, you could save up to 15% on your energy expenses. Customers who participate have reported monthly decreases of up to $18.67 on their electricity and natural gas costs, totaling $224 per year.*
You may be eligible to receive a free energy efficiency assessment to identify energy-saving opportunities all around your home. Depending on your home's needs, you also may be eligible for installation of up to $6,000 in energy efficiency upgrades and up to $1,500 in health and safety improvements—all at no cost to you.

To be eligible, you must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Your primary residence must be located within a prequalified moderate-income census tract. Moderate income range will need to be self-certified when scheduling. Census tract confirmation can be verified at geomap.ffiec.gov/FFIECGeocMap/GeocodeMap1.aspx.
- You must provide proof of participation in the New Jersey SHARES (NJ SHARES) federal/safety net partnership program.
- Your household income is above 250% and below 400% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (see 2024 Income Guidelines below). If you are below the income requirement, you may be eligible in Comfort Partners. If you are above the income requirement, you may be interested in our Quick Home Energy Check-up or Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® programs.
You also must be a current residential PSE&G customer with a valid account number, and you must be living in a building with one to three units (home, apartment, townhouse, etc.) that are individually metered. Homes that are zero to five years old or under builder’s warranty are excluded, as are homes in foreclosure. If you don’t own your residence but would still like to participate in the program, you must have the property owner’s permission to do so. What To Expect During Your Appointment
- Your Choice of In-Home or Virtual Assessment—An authorized PSE&G Home Weatherization Program contractor will perform a home walk-through either in-person or remotely via video chat on your smartphone.
- When an authorized PSE&G Home Weatherization Program contractor first comes to your home, you may be required to provide visual verification of income or proof of assistance. Income verification includes documentation of all sources of income for every member who is counted as living within the household. Documentation may include tax filings, benefit statements, or other verifiable records. PSE&G reserves the right to verify income, if deemed necessary.
- Professional Advice —The certified energy adviser who inspects your home will recommend specific energy efficiency measures to ensure you save the most.
- Installation of Energy-Saving Products†—You’ll receive a variety of energy-smart products, installed at no cost, to help you start using less energy right away. Those might include:
- LED light bulbs
- Faucet aerators
- Efficient-flow showerheads
- ShowerStart® showerhead adapters
- Advanced power strips
- Water heater pipe insulation
- Scheduling of Home Upgrades —Depending on your home's needs, you also may qualify for up to $7,500 in energy efficiency, health, and safety upgrades—at no cost. These improvements can be planned for a future PSE&G visit. Those upgrades could include:
- Installation of a programmable smart thermostat
- Insulation upgrades in walls, ceilings, and attics
- Weather stripping of existing windows and doors
- Ductwork sealing and repair
- Heating and cooling equipment tune-ups
- Other
