These high-efficiency water heaters use much less power than traditional models, which can reduce your energy costs. Better yet, you can receive a $750 post-purchase rebate on ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters. Visit the ENERGY STAR website to verify if your chosen model meets the efficiency criteria.

Purchase a qualifying water heater from any retailer and submit a rebate claim within 120 days of purchase. You should receive your rebate check approximately six weeks after PSE&G reviews your application and documentation.

Models 55 gallons and under must have a UEF of 2.0 or above.
Models larger than 55 gallons must have a UEF of 2.2 or above.

Customers applying for a rebate must have an active PSE&G residential electric account or be a Butler Electric customer receiving PSE&G residential gas service. Commercial and multi-family properties are not eligible.
The model number must be listed on the application or invoice. If the model number is not listed on the invoice/receipt, a SKU or item number corresponding to the model number on the store’s website must be available.
Rebate claim must be submitted within 120 days of purchase. The receipt or invoice must contain the day, month, and year of purchase.
Refurbished appliances, open-box appliances, and leased appliances do not qualify. This applies to all rent-to-own appliances, lease-to-own appliances, and appliances in layaway at stores such as Rent-A-Center and Aaron’s. If the receipt shows the terms “lease to own” or “rent to own,” then a balance owed of $0 must also be shown, or the appliance must be paid for (upfront and in full) to qualify for a rebate.
The rebate amount cannot exceed the value of the purchase.
Equipment purchased from any utility’s online marketplace is not eligible for a rebate.
Limit of one rebate annually per account for each water heater.
Appliances discounted through the HVAC Instant Rebates Program are not eligible for an additional rebate.

Most appliances are subject to limitations on the number of instant discounts or post-purchase rebates you may claim. Please refer to individual product pages for details.

Instant discounts are available to all PSE&G customers who shop in-store at participating retailers.

Only current residential account holders are eligible to apply for post-purchase rebates from PSE&G.

Rebate eligibility varies by individual appliance types for customers who receive electric-only service or gas-only service through PSE&G. For example, if PSE&G only provides you with gas service and you’d like to claim a rebate on an electrical appliance (such as a refrigerator), you need to instead check with your electric utility provider to find out if they offer rebates. In this instance, you’d be ineligible to claim a rebate with PSE&G.

Butler Electric customers who receive PSE&G residential gas service are also eligible for post-purchase rebates on electric appliances.

No. Rent-to-own appliances, lease-to-own appliances, open-box appliances, and appliances in layaway at stores such as Rent-A-Center and Aaron’s don’t qualify.

No. Post-purchase rebates can only be issued in the form of a check.

Once we confirm that your rebate application is complete and that you meet all eligibility requirements, you can expect your rebate check to be delivered to your address within six weeks.

Air purifiers, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers, electric outdoor equipment, occupancy sensors, room air conditioners, ventilation fans, and water coolers are discounted only through participating retailers.

However, post-purchase rebates are available for appliances purchased at any retailer as long as the paid receipt shows the retailer name, purchase date, model number, and purchase price. The rebate amount cannot exceed the value of the purchase.

Equipment purchased from any utility company’s online marketplace is not eligible for a rebate.

Yes. If your property owner, management company, or association is a PSE&G residential account holder, you may be eligible for a rebate. Before PSE&G can process your rebate, you may need to provide documentation that your utility bill is included in your rent or association fees.

Be used for indoor residential lighting
Automatically turn lights off when a room is empty
Require the light to be turned on manually
